Along with my brother, David, I had the idea for 118 TAXI following a particularly nasty incident involving one of one of my female friends and an unlicensed taxi in Leamington.

We put our heads together and came up with different ideas to tackle the problem, including a campaign handing out cards with the numbers of local licensed taxi firms.

Uptake from the various campaigns was poor; and then another unlicensed taxi incident involving a young woman from Coventry happened! This meant we decided to take more drastic action…

So, the idea of a mobile service was established and we went about registering the 118 TAXI number and creating a business.
